Overview

N&D Co. designed the logo and brand identity for Innovation Texture, a wall texture manufacturer and designer in Vadodara, India. The logo is a rising sun that forms the letters I and T, with tall buildings, a light bulb under a small roof and stripes for the ground the business rises from. Around it we delivered four logo files, five colour palettes to choose from, stacked and horizontal lockups with their construction grids, and mockups of the logo on walls, signs and stationery.

Innovation Texture uses the identity today. Photos of it in use are covered by a non-disclosure agreement, so this page shows the presentation mockups from the brand package instead.

The work covers two of our services: logo design for the mark and its lockups, and brand identity design for the palettes, the logo versions and the brand identity document.

About Innovation Texture

Innovation Texture makes and designs wall textures in Vadodara, Gujarat. Its brand package describes a team of designers and manufacturers who create wall textures for residential and commercial spaces, and its goal as high-quality, customisable textures that improve how a space looks. Our concept notes name its customers as builders and residential business owners.

What the logo was designed to say

Our concept notes give each part of the logo a job: carry the name, stand for innovation, refer to the customers and show a business on the rise. The delivered files add the practical side, a version for light and dark backgrounds.

  • Carry the initials of the name, I for Innovation and T for Texture.
  • Stand for innovation, with a light bulb.
  • Refer to the customers: builders and residential business owners.
  • Suggest a business that is growing.
  • Work in black, in white and in colour, on light and dark backgrounds.

Logo Design

A rising sun built from I and T

The outer shape is a rising sun: a circle that opens at the top, where tall, narrow buildings drawn in outline rise through it, and the lines of the two buildings form an I and a T. Under a small roof at their feet sits a light bulb with leaves around it, and horizontal stripes fill the bottom of the circle.

The wordmark sets Innovation Texture in a thin, geometric sans serif. It goes under the icon in the stacked lockup and beside it, on two lines, in the horizontal one, and each lockup has its construction grid.

  • The logo icon: a rising sun with buildings, a bulb and stripes
  • A stacked lockup: the icon above the name
  • A horizontal lockup: the icon beside the name on two lines
  • Construction grids for both lockups
  • Logo files: light, dark, duotone and round, each 2,000 pixels square
Brand Identity Design

Palettes, logo versions and a brand identity document

We gave Innovation Texture five colour palettes to compare on the logo itself, from warm browns and ambers to a yellow and charcoal pair. The final palette, warm ivory, golden yellow, amber and deep brown, is the one our brand identity document sets out, with the logo in its variations, the meaning of each part and mockups showing how the logo could look.

  • Five colour palettes, each shown on the logo
  • A brand palette with HEX and RGB codes
  • Logo variations on light and dark backgrounds
  • A brand identity document (PDF)
  • Presentation mockups showing how the logo could look

What does the Innovation Texture logo mean?

Every part of the Innovation Texture logo stands for something about the business: its name, its customers and where it is headed. The table follows our concept notes, part by part.

Colour palettes: five options and the final palette

We showed Innovation Texture five palettes, each applied to the logo, so the choice could be made on the mark itself instead of on swatches. Palette 4 is marked as custom: it keeps palette 1's amber and deep brown and pairs them with a deeper yellow and a light grey.

Mockups: the logo on walls, signs and stationery

Since the business makes wall textures, most of the mockups put the logo on textured plaster, concrete and stone, in a living room, a showroom, a reception and on a building, and the rest on a shopfront, a sign, a bag, an envelope and stationery. They are presentation renders, not photographs of the client's premises: the identity is in use, but photos of it are covered by a non-disclosure agreement. The brand package has 20; these are 12 of them, and we have blurred the placeholder contact details on the stationery.

Our article on the difference between a logo and a brand identity explains what each part of a job like this covers. If you need a logo with this kind of thinking behind it, see our logo design service, or more of our work on the projects page.
